  1. Our standard wrought iron door jamb is made of 1 1/2" X 6" widths in 14 gauge steel or customized to meet any wall thickness.

  2. Our wrought iron door sheet is made of 1 3/4" X 5 1/2" fourteen gauge one-piece steel.

  3. Our wrought iron scroll work is hand forged using 5/8" solid steel.

  4. All our wrought iron doors come on a pre-hung steel frame. The steel frame supports the weight on the doors and allows easier installation. The frame is equipped with mounting flanges to secure the frame into the framing with lag bolts.

  5. Prior to painting, the wrought iron doors are acid washed, then primed with a two part epoxy primer and faux painted with high quality automobile type acrylic lacquer paint, then clear-coated for maximum protection.

  6. All our wrought iron doors are equipped with interior glass panels that open independently from the door. This feature allows for ventilation, cleaning and security by keeping the door closed and locked between homeowner and the outside party.

  7. The glass frame for our wrought iron doors can be prepared for either 1/4" tempered glass or 1/2" insulated tempered glass. All doors require tempered glass to insure safety. The glass is not included in our price and is always an extra charge. We do offer a wide selection of clear or obscure glass for purchase.

  8. All our wrought iron doors utilize a mortise and tendon type ball bearing hinge with grease fittings.

  9. All our wrought iron doors come insulated with high quality foam insulation that is pumped into the jamb and also into the style of the door sheet.

  10. A combination of foam and rubber weather stripping is used around the door frame, the glass frame, and rubber sweep with an adjustable neoprene threshold and bronze aluminum sill.

  11. Any of our wrought iron door designs can be made as either single or double door. They can also be used for gates, balconies, windows, transoms, patio doors or wine cellar doors with simple modifications. CADD drawings are created to insure that the right design size and configu- ration meets all of your customer's needs.

  12. Foot bolts and head bolts are used on double wrought iron door units. The flush bolt is the mechanism that locks the inactive leaf of the double door unit. The head bolt locks into the top of the door frames and the foot bolt locks into the threshold/floor.

  13. Our custom wrought iron doors may be ordered to swing in or swing out.

  14. Arches are available in full (half circle), eyebrow and elliptical as well as rectangular on any of our wrought iron doors.

  15. Hardware can be purchased through Castle Entries or purchased separately by the customer.

  16. Our custom wrought iron door specs for standard hardware are 2 1/8" borings, 5 1/2" center to center, and 2 3/4" backset.

  17. Lever handles can not be used on the inside of the iron doors as they will interfere with the ability to open the independent glass panel.
